How the numbers are worked out
Three steps, with no rounding until the end.
- Concentration = peptide in the vial ÷ water added
- Volume per dose = dose ÷ concentration
- Syringe units = volume × marks per millilitre
A worked example
A 5 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5 mg/mL. A 250 mcg dose is 0.25 mg, so the volume is 0.1 mL, which is 10 units on a U-100 syringe. That vial holds 20 whole doses of that size.
Common questions
How much bacteriostatic water should I add?
Any amount works, because the water sets the concentration rather than the total peptide. More water gives a larger, easier-to-read draw; less gives a smaller one. Pick an amount that puts your dose on an easy mark, then keep it the same for that vial.
How many units is my dose?
Units are marks on the syringe barrel, not an amount of peptide. On a U-100 syringe, 100 units is 1 mL. The calculator turns your dose into the mark to fill to.
Does this store anything?
No. It runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved.
